Less than expected.

The novels are a little less than I expected. I thought they might expand on the script and offer more insight into the thinking of the disciples and Jesus, but they were primarily the script itself. I did like the fact that as I read them I had a clear vision of what the disciples and Jesus looked like. Everything was very familiar because of having seen the series. All in all, I enjoyed reading them, just expected a little more.

The books are wonderful!

After I’ve watched the DVD each season, I read the corresponding book just before the next season is released, in order to refresh my memory of the DVD for that season. The books correspond closely with the DVD’s with some additional details by the author. I have thoroughly enjoyed every season of The Chosen DVD’s and the books.
