Welcome to The Chosen Adventures! We are committed to protecting the privacy and security of children’s personal information. This Children’s Privacy Policy applies anytime you visit The Chosen Adventures website , use any online or offline services that we operate, or attend an in-person event (collectively, “Services”). This Children’s Privacy Policy will tell you about the types of personal information The Chosen and its affiliates (“The Chosen”, “The Chosen Adventures”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collect from children under the age of 18 and how we use it or share it, as well as rights available to parents and guardians. “Personal Information” is any information that identifies you or your device and is reasonably associated with you.

This Children’s Privacy Policy supplements The Chosen’s Privacy Policy, which covers general audiences, including adults. This Children’s Privacy Policy does not apply to any third party websites or any websites that may link to the Services but that are not managed by or affiliated with us.

What Personal Information Do We Collect?

We avoid collecting personal information of children where possible, and unless permitted by law, we request consent from a parent or guardian before collecting or using personal information of a child. However, we do collect certain personal information depending on your use of the Services:

Registration:  Parents or guardians over the age of 18 must register to create an account on The Chosen Adventures for their children and family. Children may not submit their own personal information to create an account. The Chosen collects name, email address, username and password from adults to register an account, and registration also requires submitting the unique code that is included in The Chosen Adventures Kit. We strongly encourage adults to not provide any personal information of children in the username or otherwise in the registration process. We collect this information to create a The Chosen Adventures account for a family. Once an account is created, anyone within one family can log into The Chosen Adventures account. We will use the email address supplied to create the account and to provide product updates and sneak peeks of exclusive content that will be shared on The Chosen Adventures website.  You may opt out of receiving such messages using the unsubscribe link in each email or contacting us using the contact information below.

Purchases of The Chosen Adventures Kit and Other Merchandise: Only adults over the age of 18 may provide their personal information and payment information to purchase The Chosen Adventures Kit or other merchandise. To purchase The Chosen Adventures Kit or other merchandise, an adult must provide his or her name, billing address, phone number, email address, and payment card information. If the purchase is a gift, the purchaser must also provide the name of the parent or guardian of the intended recipient, the physical address of the parent or guardian of the intended recipient, and the email address of the parent or guardian of the intended recipient. We may also collect an individual’s purchase history. We will use this information to process your purchase, send The Chosen Adventures Kit or other merchandise to the recipient, and maintain a record of products purchased from us. Please note that a third party processor collects and processes your payment card information on our behalf, and The Chosen does not store or process your payment card information on our systems.

Automatically Collected Information and Persistent Identifiers: When you interact with the Services, certain information may be automatically collected. We use website cookies, which are small text files placed on your computer. Cookies help us understand how The Chosen Adventures website is being used and improve your user experience. The information collected by a cookie may be about your devices or your use of the Services, such as your IP address (which is a number that identifies your device), browser type, operating system, computer platform, the date and time of your visit to The Chosen Adventures website, the amount of time you spend on The Chosen Adventures website, the actions such as logging in and out, and the pages users visit. If available, you may choose to enable online a universal tool that automatically communicates your opt out preferences, such as the Global Privacy Control. The Chosen Adventures treats a GPC signal as a request to opt out.

Other Information: We may collect and use any other personal information you decide to provide us. 

 

When Do We Collect Parental Consent?

The Chosen Adventures is intended for families to enjoy together with children of all ages. While we avoid collecting personal information of children where possible, we may ask a child to provide information (such as the name and age of the child or automatically collected information about a child’s device) for certain purposes, such as to safeguard the security of users of the Services or the Services themselves, to provide analytics as part of our internal operations, or to otherwise comply with law (including obtaining consent from parents or guardians when required). If we do collect personal information of a child, we will seek parental or guardian consent, or only collect such personal information without parental consent as permitted by law (including support for our internal operations related to The Chosen Adventures website).

If we learn we have collected or received personal information from a child without parental or guardian consent (including when we do not receive such consent within a reasonable amount of time after we send a notice of collection of personal information of a child) and not within an exception under applicable law, we will promptly delete that information.

What Personal Information Do We Collect Without Parental Consent?

If permitted by law, we may collect and use certain persistent identifiers of a child’s device without collecting parental consent. We collect persistent identifiers to support our internal operations, specifically (i) to obtain analytics about how the Services are being used, (ii) for debugging and other security purposes, (iii) to ensure legal compliance, and (iv) to maintain the functioning of The Chosen Adventures website. We take steps to ensure that this information cannot be used to contact a specific individual or for any other purpose other than supporting our internal operations. For example, we have configured analytics cookies running on this website such that all selling, sharing, or disclosing of personal information to third parties is disabled, precise geolocation information is not collected, and personal information of a child (rather than a child’s device) is not collected. 

What Do We Use Personal Information For?

We may use your personal information for the following purposes:

• To provide you with information or Services you requested;
• To send email communications with product update information about The Chosen Adventures exclusive content;

With Whom Do We Disclose Your Personal Information?

• With service providers or third parties to assist us with providing you with the Services you request;

• To protect our interests, rights, safety, or property or those of others; or
• Otherwise with your consent (or consent of a parent or guardian, as required).

 

Notwithstanding these practices described above, we do not make children’s personal information publicly available. We may disclose aggregated data of users of the Services for additional purposes, and data that does not specifically identify any individual or device.

  

How Long Do We Keep Your Personal Information?

We only keep personal information as long as we need it to provide the Services to you and as described in this Children’s Privacy Policy or as long as required by law. We will delete your personal information that we have if it is no longer needed for the purpose for which we collected it.

What Choices and Controls Do You and Your Parents and Guardians Have?

If we have collected any personal information of a child, parents and guardians can access and review their child’s personal information, request that we correct, update, or delete the child’s personal information, and/or refuse or revoke consent for us to continue collecting and processing the child’s personal information. Upon receiving a request from a parent or guardian, we will request information to verify the identity of the requester and that the requester is the parent or guardian of the child. The Chosen is based in the United States.
